‘Veda Nilayalam’ is the house where the former Chief Minister lived. It was taken over by the government of Tamil Nadu. The list of properties has been published in Tamil Nadu Government Gazette since the government is planning convert it into a memorial.
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami announced in 2017 that Veda Nilayam should be converted as a memorial and open to the public in remembrance of J Jayalalithaa’s achievements and sacrifices for the people of Tamil Nadu.
